Let's Talk Petitions!
It's already time to talk about PETITIONS in our campaign!
When a candidate wants to get their name on an official election ballot, they have to get residents in the area they will represent to sign petitions showing support. Unfortunately, it’s not as easy to just raise your hand or “throw your hat in the ring” to get on the ballot.
When you run for office, there are a minimum number of signatures each candidate must receive to get on the ballot. These petitions are verified by the County Clerk with voter registration records to make sure the people signing are legal residents of Woodbury and registered to vote.
To get your name on the ballot for Woodbury City Council in Ward 1 you need a minimum of 10 signatures; Ward 2 requires 15 signatures; Ward 3 requires 22 signatures; and for the Mayor - because this position is at-large - you need 25 signatures to get on the ballot.
THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN! One of the most important ways that we need you all to support our campaign is to sign petitions for our candidates! It’s a very simple process but it's one of the most important ways to support our campaign.
Reach out to us through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, our website, or email us directly at woodburytogether@gmail.com to let us know you'd like to sign our petition! Tell us your street address so we know which ward you’re in, and we’ll follow up to get your signature!
It’s going to take all of us together, united, as one community to bring real changes to our City and we can’t get there without you! We believe in this City and we hope that you feel the same way. Help us get on the ballot by signing a petition TODAY!
